And a hearty ‘third’! To Mr. Auster, Mr. Kalb, Matt, Carl, Bill, Mr. Murgos, Mr. Sutherland, Unadorned, Mr. Cella, Bubba, Mr. Levine, Thrasymachus, Thucydides, Mr. Kehowski, David, Shawn, Matt W., Paul, Mr. Coleman, and anyone else I’ve inadvertently missed — thank you all for contributing to a much needed personal education on “the passing scene and what it’s about.”

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all! :-)

Thanks to all.

Here is a fine comment on the above Christmas illustration sent by one of our regulars:

“That was a very beautiful scene you chose for posting on VFR for the occasion of Christmas — it so strongly evoked peacefulness and spiritualness all wrapped up in an atmosphere of great physical beauty. Especially effective were the two lights, one shining in the sky and one illuminating the ground in front of the house. Each viewer will interpret them his own way, of course. I saw them as the dual lights Christ brought into the world, of our twin connections to him through mundane everyday things (the light illuminating the ground) and through highly spiritual, ethereal, transcendent things (the light in the sky).”

I know I’m late on this, but to Mr. Auster, and to everyone else reading this, Merry Christmas, and have a Happy New Year as well!
