Abducted woman shoots abductor

After the devastating statistics we’ve heard from John Lott about the systematic media cover-up of incidents in which guns were employed to ward off crimes, the following almost seems like a man-bites-dog story. Man, after harassing woman for months, abducts her in car and holds gun to her head. Woman pulls out 9 mm pistol from hidden location on her hip and shoots man in face, saving her life. And here’s the man-bites-dog part: a newspaper actually reports this successful use of a firearm in self-defense. There’s a catch, however. The newspaper in question is the Northwest Indiana News. Not exactly the New York Times, or even the Chicago Tribune.

The Centers for Disease Control has just ‘passively’ affirmed the facts we already knew. The Washington Times Editorial begins:

“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a study last week that states there is no evidence to prove gun-control laws are effective in preventing violence. No kidding.”
