France wants to be a counterweight to American power. But to be a counterweight, you must count. —French author Pascal Bruckner on the Charlie Rose Show from Paris last night

He also said that part of France’s problem is that she knows she can never repay America for World Wars I & II. Maybe we should remind France of the debt in her favor: Yorktown.
