Canadian government on the case

Those Canadians are back again: India-Born Canadian Novelist Rohinton Mistry Cancels US Book Tour Over Racial Profiling. The noted storyteller complained that on previous visits he had been stopped and searched rudely at every airport he passed through and didn’t want to go through the experience again. The real news in the piece though is something VOA just tossed in, a comment that “Canada’s government last month urged its citizens born in Middle Eastern and Muslim countries to think carefully before entering the United States, saying they could be subject to extra scrutiny in the aftermath of last year’s terrorist attacks.” So the Canadians are responding (in their own way) to concerns relating to that country’s immigration policies and terrorism.

While I have my disagreements with Mr. Buchanan, I think “Soviet Canuckistan” fits perfectly.
