Government re-organization as an escape from reality

This amazing article from the Washington Times (suggested by one of our readers) brings into focus the treasonous negligence and insane delusions of the Bush administration. They’ve put all their eggs in the basket of this huge government re-organization and new cabinet department, which will take two years to be completed after Congress authorizes it, and in the meantime the borders are in chaos, open to terrorists and everything else. And after Rep. Tom Tancredo and others pointed these things out, what was the reply of the Bushites?

“You need to stay focused on the task,” Mr. Armey said. “The main thing is to create the new secretary.”

Is the Latino vote worth *this* much?

To the North; Canada is our biggest trading partner, but I’m sure if pressure was properly applied they would be amenable to a few troops patrolling the border. If not, seizing Alberta will get us oil, liberate Albertans, add a couple more Republican senators, and scare the rest into complying (they know this so I don’t think it will have to go that far—but it should be in our public discourse =)).

The oceans might be a problem but beefing up the Coast Guard should help solve it.

You can’t guard all the places all the time—but if you don’t guard them at all you’re inviting al Qaeda, or whathaveyou, in.

By its nature any effective action to control illegal immigration would involve the use of force to oppose inclusion. As this article and the situation in Europe show, such action is beyond anything the political class is prepared to contemplate. I’m not sure what would be necessary to change that.
